I do not know much about them, the vocal is Nino Gomes, they play in Sofia, Bulgraia, and have a crazy crazy video. I have heard this Nino at some concerts in Sofia…as far as I remember they sounded much more ordinary. These new things though…deserve attention:). At myspace : www.myspace.com/25dp
This is the 2007 album of one of my favourite Bulgarian bands – Bluba Lu. I could hear it last week and was quite obsessed by it. It is not good for the MP3-player, too sluggish to muffle the traffic noises, but it is wonderful for the cool June rainy afternoons at home. I remember that the first time I heard the new things with a female vocal, whilst the previous albums were instrumental, I did not like it. Now I changed my mind. This is calm, melancholic, but not too depressive music. Stylish and jazzy, young and vital.
The more I listen to Sporto Kantes, the more I tell to myself that they are simply… men of genius. It is strange to me that in the Internet there is so very few information
about them. Maybe because I did not search for French sites…
Despite my general dislike for reggae I am so fond these days of “Regular Customer” from “2nd round”. I feel like singing it when I go into any nice supermarket and I am hungry. The idea is a bit different though:)
I’m just a regular customer
/I’m just a regular guy/
I’m just a regular customer
Nothing else Mr.Officer
Mean no trouble noone
So why you want to lock me in jail
Maybe I’m wrong today
But I was not yesterday
just a regular customer…
Benjamin Biolay – the album is “Negativ” from 2003. This song is my absolute hit in the last two weeks.
dernier souper au chateau. Also ”Nuits Blanches”, ”Little Darlin’ ” – this last one is very American like, actually in the whole album there is some western
thread that is very pathetic when made by a French. But in this case it sounds well.
“La Vanite” with Monsieur Biolay’s low voice sounds sincere and intimate, ”Exsangue” proves once again that this is not just an ordinary
French pop music, but there is something interesting and modern in it.
And again and again the guitars of ”dernier souper au chateau” that sounds clear like folklore, western, American, globally, moving.
The album of the nice and fragile Charlotte Gainsbourg called “5:55″. It is so “Air”-y,
perfect for background, although during my vacuum-cleaning I would prefer some more noisy and rhythmic thing. And I do not like the way
of mixing French and English in the lyrics, not much touching actually.
But her whispering is good. Maybe it would be perfect as ”music to make love to your
old lady by”…Though haven’t tried it yet…And it is so feminine that maybe some lesbian
couple would enjoy it most. Or mainly the woman.
Oh, I am not in a mood for ”5:55″. But it is OK. If you like Air.
And the best song for me “The operation”, the fastest one, with a nice video. Actually Charlotte is an actress mainly, good one we should admit.
