The album of the nice and fragile Charlotte Gainsbourg called “5:55″. It is so “Air”-y,
perfect for background, although during my vacuum-cleaning I would prefer some more noisy and rhythmic thing. And I do not like the way
of mixing French and English in the lyrics, not much touching actually.
But her whispering is good. Maybe it would be perfect as ”music to make love to your
old lady by”…Though haven’t tried it yet…And it is so feminine that maybe some lesbian
couple would enjoy it most. Or mainly the woman.
Oh, I am not in a mood for ”5:55″. But it is OK. If you like Air.
And the best song for me “The operation”, the fastest one, with a nice video. Actually Charlotte is an actress mainly, good one we should admit.
Well, today’s favourites are actually two Japanese songs, not Beck – he is rather my most enjoyed MP3-player’s album. Fitting with the waiting of 31-bus at Pálya utca’s stop.
This post was about these songs - Soran Bushi and Hiyamikachi Bushi, very lively. I had listened more solemn and sad songs from Ensemble Nipponia, these two came as a surprise. Very simple, curly, with old male and female vocals…
Then I checked some folklore songs from Japanese TV shows. Well, they are quite good, I found some of the singing similar to the Bulgarian folklore.
“One two..You know what to do…” And here it goes…
“The Information” is so fresh, makes me so happy that hardly anything recently can
compare with it. (It was Sporto Kantes last week but they are kind of more serious
and do not make me so dancy.)
The album is very visualistic to say. Sounds like the OST of an old science fiction
movie from the 70’s. With dancing green aliens and happy astronauts in funny bubbling costumes. There is the rocky ”Nausea” and the
breathing in ”The Information” resembles Bjork in the “Medulla”-album. I find at most two of the songs a bit narrative musically and not so exciting,
all the rest are alive and sparkling.
So, you know what to do…! Happy new Beck!
